Starkey Fossgreen

Born 1994 in Santa Rosa, CA

Born in 1994 in Santa Rosa, Starkey Fossgreen is a self-taught, multidisciplinary artist from Santa Rosa, California. Throughout their work, Fossgreen depicts verdant, dreamlike landscapes in which subjects (primarily humans and horses) bleed into their natural surroundings — often eliminating distinctions between foreground and background — as a divine equilibrium is achieved between habitat and inhabitant. Their recent exhibitions include 'Neurosis' (2022, Project V Gallery); 'Girls with Cherry-Colored Centers' (2022, UCLA Little Gallery); and 'Hearty Fried Wild Greens' (2022, Escolar).
