Born in Sofia in 1981, London based artist Stefania Batoeva graduated from London's Royal College of Art in 2014. She has since exhibited throughout Europe, as well as participating in shows in Brazil and Los Angeles. Batoeva's art is characterized by a boldness of form. This manifests in numerous ways in her work, be it her large, firm strokes of solidly colored line, her human-scale figures, or her creativity in bringing two-dimensional works off the wall and into the space inhabited by the viewer. In her works on canvas, Batoeva's features recognizably representational forms and figures, but often only present as moments of interruption in an otherwise geometrically abstracted and transitionally murky image.
