Pippa Garner

Born 1942 in Evanston, IL

Lives and works in Long Beach, CA

Born 1942 in Evanston, Illinois, Long Beach based artist Pippa Garner graduated from the ArtCenter College of Design in 1970. She subsequently found wide acclaim for her radical, satirical concept drawings and sculptures of imagined automobiles of the future. From this conceptual nidus Garner continued to craft eye-catching and thought-provoking cultural critiques in the form of sketches, installations, and performances. Her drawings in particular represented a rare intersection of technical skill, biting sardonicism, and truly visionary creativity.
