Justin Fitzpatrick

Born 1985 in Dublin, Ireland

Born 1985 in Dublin, Ireland, Justin Fitzpatrick attended St. Oswald's School of Painting in London from 2004-2007, and earned his MA in Fine Art Painting from the Royal College of Art in London in 2015. He has exhibited widely in the United Kingdom and throughout Europe, and has participated in recent shows in New York and Mexico. Fitzpatrick works in a variety of media, including paint, sculpture, and text. Much of his work contains figurative elements transformed into static, infrastructural ones, with the bodies of men made mechanical, forming spaces to inhabit or transit upon. Painted with a combination of broadly suggestive forms interwoven with moments of sharp detail, Fitzpatrick's vibrant colors and stylized imagery evoke monumental murals of the past century, and are imbued with the same sense of societal import
