Isa Schieche

born in 1988 in Ried im Innkreis, Austria

lives and works in Vienna, Austria

Born in Austria in 1988, Vienna based artist Isa Schieche has exhibited in Germany, Austria, Russia, Bulgaria, and the Czech Republic. A 2013 graduate of Newcastle University and 2014 graduate of the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, Schieche has been awarded scholarships, residencies, and grants for her work, including first prize in the 2019 public sculpture competition in Moscow. Schieche is a multidisciplinary artist, working in sculpture, video, drawing, and experiential installation to confront her conceptual subjects from all angles. Much of Schieche's work centers around natural forms subverted through exaggerated repitition, patterning, and scale, or by the rendering of a familiar looking structure upon an unexpected substrate.
