Plum Cloutman

Lives and works between London and North Norfolk

UK based painter Plum Cloutman is a 2018 graduate of Edinburgh College of Art. She has exhibited in London and Edinburgh, and has had recent shows in New York, Los Angeles, Montreal, and Amsterdam. Much of her work consists of delicately ordered, richly textured strokes of color, imbuing every surface in her work a directional pulsing and flowing of energy. Also integral to many of CLoutman's paintings is her great skill in capturing the sparkle and shine of reflected light within her scenes. The pairing of her exquisite intricacy of brushwork with choices in the composition of her images calls to mind artworks of centuries past, but Cloutman's unapologetically modern forwardness in depicting our bodies and the way they make us feel anchors these paintings to the present moment.
